These are a few of my favorite things…

As most of you know now, we had a small wedding ceremony on November 14, 2020 and our reception on November 6, 2021. I want to share a few of my favorite moments with you as I welcome you all aboard my life journal.

This is my mom and dad, they took this photo on the staircase at our first venue that my mom loved. This is my favorite picture of the two of them due to their smiles. My parents did everything they could to make sure my brother and I had whatever we needed, and gave us an excellent example of what a happy marriage should look like.

Growing up, I was a competitive dancer. My mom was my stagehand, always there to pin in extra bobby pins, fix my makeup, or straighten my hairpieces. This photo was one of the pictures I had to have taken, my beautiful mom getting one last chance to be my stagehand.

Shortly before this photo was taken, my dad and I were taking our walk down the aisle. The only thing he said to me on the way up was, “I thought you’d be running down main street by now,” and then giving his best wishes to my new husband. A would now be the one to handle my daily crisis.

While we didn’t have a reception at our first wedding, we took the time to do our first dance to the song “You,” by A Great Big World. This was the moment I realized I get to keep this sweet man forever.

Growing up, there was never a question as to what my dad would be saying at his Father of the Bride speech. Sure enough, he went straight to the story of how the fan broke when I was a child. My brother and I haven’t told anyone how it actually happened, but it gets brought up often at our family events. Someday I’m sure they will find out just how their ceiling fan was broken.

At the second wedding, we set up an easy to use photo booth. While I have hundreds of photos from this event, I have them all saved in a folder called “Tribe.” I’m sure I stole it from the “Find your tribe, love them hard,” saying, but every time I come across these photos, I see people who I wanted to spend time with and know they had every ounce of fun that I had.

These last few photos are from our photographers, all of which are getting printed to add to our home. We were so lucky to have the opportunity to have two weddings and friends who were able to make it to both weddings. While it may have been a rough first year of marriage, we’ve been so blessed.
